Day 9 – Ooh Shiny.

“Some girls are just born with glitter in their veins.” – Paris Hilton

I bought a glittery pink hat. Yes I know I did not make it. But I wish I had. It makes me so happy. Truly. I also quoted Paris Hilton. Why? Because gurl be makin’ mad sense right there. Also because she is a person too, and because all that glitters is bloody brilliant.

Good day ❤

When you’re around me, you’re going to get glitter on you.” – Kesha

Day 8 – Yu is 24

“Nothing will ruin your 20’s more than thinking you should have your life together already.”
– I wish I knew

My home girl Yuhibird turns 24 today. Happy Birthday Yuhibird!
I remembered this quote from one of my quote hunts a few months ago, and I thought it would be nice to share. There are no two people I know who have talked about this very thing more than the two goons in this GIF, as I’m sure so many of us in our 20’s have. Getting our sh** together seems like the anthem of the heartbreak nation we live in these days.

Introspection, experimenting and analysing our first impressions was a phase well spent, and I’m glad to have had you doing the same with me.
My friend Johanna once said to me that the day we are accepting of other’s differences, is when we are finally free. Iv’e thought about this on and off over the past year, and the freedom bit gets clearer every time. Dear children of the now, thinking too much IS too much, experiences DO matter and people will always be weirder than you. But really, YOLO is the truth and LOL is the only saviour.

Hope yu (heh) have a great year of growing old and growing wise. Appy Buddei love ❤

Day 7 – Inkheart

“Freeing yourself was one thing, claiming ownership of that freed self was another.”
― Toni Morrison, Beloved

A year and 1 month after what seemed like a hard time to live, I decided to make permanent a vow I took to myself. My second tattoo, this one is the Hebrew word for ‘I’; the self, pronounced “Anee”.

On a 4 month trip to Israel, I found myself questioning the world around me and the way I functioned in it. Time alone does many a thing to the mind, and experiences – good or bad – tend to leave you questioning your beliefs and capabilities.

Loving yourself is sometimes a stretch, but accepting your shortcomings along with your strengths, is perhaps the least we can do. It may pay to remind yourself once in a while that though we are loved, and are capable of loving in return, the most important person in your life is you.

With a Hebrew name from my parents, my love for the language and now its typography has remained since I was first introduced to it. And so, with eyes closed and best friend’s hand slowly loosing blood circulation, I endured the most fulfilling pain to my right arm. Heh. Photos below.

Tattoo by Arpita Vijaya, a talented and loving soul. She is at the Ink Movement in Koramangala, Bangalore.

Im thankful for all the support I have had from my family and friends. Its only human to loose sight of the good and focus on what is lacking. Thank you Shay Zi for all the hebrew translation you have done for me over the year. You are the best. And Shloka for always being the one making these appointments and (literally) lending me her hand.

Day 2 – Pixel Heart

Pixelated love, for all us hardworking designers out there.

“We often plough so much energy into the big picture, we forget the pixels.”

Goodnight ❤

Day 1 – Pentagon

Hello people of the internet.

This blog began as a result of a challenge three friends posed to each other. Each a designer, with their own fields of expertise, was tasked with creating something new every day. It can be anything. Big or small, grand or shabby, as long as it is something. Something that would allow them to play, to stretch their cramped craniums, and let loose their dragons to graze.

A project for the soul; I would be glad to have inspired you even a little.

Here is a little pentagon from a strip of paper, that tucks neatly into itself.

Goodnight ❤
